about

I wrote this track back in around 2014-2015.

Up until the last 18 months or so I felt too nervous of letting any of my music out in the world.

Things changed when I put together Din of Celestial Birds (dinofcelestialbirds.bandcamp.com/releases), which gave me the confidence to just put out whatever I wanted to work on. Since then I have put out neoclassical music (andiegillmusic.bandcamp.com) and death doom with my friend Seán (vermian.bandcamp.com/releases)

Wilderness of Mirrors is my drone/doom/gaze/ambient project, influenced by the likes of Nadja, Jesu, Bismuth, This Will Destroy You, The Angelic Process, Boris, Catafalque, The Owl etc

"The Light - The Darkness - The Void" is my view of the cycle of life; you're born (the light), you live (the darkness), then you die (the void).
I have crippling depression...making music like this is, oddly, therapeutic for me.

All sounds on this recording (except the sample of Peter Saul) were created using drums, bass, guitars, and effects pedals. No synths, keyboards, or vocals were used.

Self recorded at home.
Intentionally lo-fi.
I left in all of the little imperfections, like string scrapes and chokes etc

I recommend a good set of bass heavy speakers to listen to this.
